Hiroko Tanaka graduated from the Medical Illustration Graduate Program at Augusta University in 2024.
Her academic journey began at Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, CA where she honed her interpersonal and critical thinking skills by immersing herself in a variety of subjects in a diverse environment. Seeking to further her education in art, she pursued a Post-Baccalaureate program in Fine Arts at the Laguna College of Arts and Design where she worked with art galleries and participated in various shows and exhibitions.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to enhancing people's lives, Hiroko is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and public health through her work in the field of medical illustration.
As a former student of the MIGP program and a member of the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI), Hiroko had various opportunities to collaborate with a wide range of clients including the Phinizy Center, as well as university surgeons and nurses.
In 2023, Hiroko received the Octavia Garlington Award by the AU Graduate School department in recognition of her poster design for a patient education pamphlet and in 2024 won first-place in the Innovate Pitch Competition.
